Boarding

Starting Fall 2023

Your dogs health and safety is Praline’s Backyard highest priority. Dogs boarding with us are required to have participated in at least three days of cage-free daycare in the last 30 days. It is important for the cohesiveness of the cage-free environment for dogs to attend cage-free daycare on a regular schedule to develop excellent social skills. When dogs are not accustomed to cage-free environment, boarding becomes stressful and it creates an increased risk of lack of tolerance from your dog which could result in an aggressive acts toward another dog or our staff. Having plenty of exposure to our cage-free environment before they are left for an extended period of time will ensure that we are setting them up for a successful stay while you are away.

Limited personal items are allowed for cage-free boarding.

This helps avoid resource-guarding behaviors over a personal bed or favorite toy. Bedding, enrichment activities and toys will be provided to all boarding dogs. Should your dog become over stimulated in the cage-free environment they will be placed in one of our Rest and Relaxation/Feeding areas where they can relax and spend some time resting.
When your dog is boarding with us please bring their food in pre-bagged zip-locks and measured to how you feed them, treats if you have opted for an add on service and any medication they will need during their stay. Please bring only the amount of food that is needed for their stay. We do not have room to store large plastic totes. We have plenty of beds, blankets, and bowls.

Our overnight guests enjoy a 24 hour supervised cage-free environment

What to Bring for Boarding

For the safety of your dog we only allow break-away or clasped collars. They are easily removable and washable. Leather or buckled collars are not easily removable and thus are not permitted. Should you forget, we have break-away or clasped collars available for purchase.

Please do not attach tracking devices, anti-bark devices, or any other electronics to your pet’s collar. These devices contain batteries and other components that could pose a significant risk to dogs if they are chewed or ingested.

Boarding Drop-Off and Pick Up Times

Sunday – Saturday – 6:30 am – 9:30 am is drop off and pick up time. Should you elect not to pick your dog up by 9:30 am on their scheduled departure date and did not schedule daycare for that day, you will be charged for daycare, the daily rate of daycare of $40 plus a $10 convenience fee. Drop-off and pick-up hours are in place for the cohesiveness of the cage-free environment. Praline’s Backyard is staffed 24 hours a day/ 7 days a week for the safety and security of your dog and our staff. Sleep is very important to the health of your dog. Our policies are in place to ensure dogs in our care get enough rests. If allowed dogs would play until exhausted and as a result become irritable and snappy similar to us as humans. In the cage free environment this causes dogs to be snappy to our staff and other dogs and in order to avoid these negative behaviors we do not introduce dogs to the pack in the evenings due to the imbalance of dog energy that is introduced.

Boarding should be scheduled 48 hours or more in advance.

Please Note: During holidays and their attached weekends ( listed below) boarding should be scheduled at least 7 days in advance. All boarding require at least a 48 hour cancellation notification otherwise you will be charged for the entire scheduled stay
