Your responsibilities as a Dog Enrichment Specialist include driving to appointments, using our mobile app to check in/out of appointments, and sharing engaging updates with pictures to keep our clients informed about their dogs.
Compensation
Dog Enrichment Specialist at Praline’s Backyard average $15 per hour plus gratuity during their initial 90 days. Our pay structure includes:
After a successful 90-day review, our employees receive a pay increase, with further increments at 6 and 12 months. Our long-standing team members can earn between $15-$20 per hour, dependent on their tenure and availability.

Our Dog Enrichment Specialist Primary responsibilities include:
The overall safety and well-being of the dogs in their care
The safety and security of the home in which the dogs live
Relaying peace of mind through clear communication, quality photos, constant positive interaction with dog and knowledge of pet care.
Foster dog happiness through play, love, stimulation, manners training, activity and overall positive interaction with the pets in their care
Following specific instructions, paying attention to detail and attending to the “small things.”
We provide dog services seven days a week, from 6am to 10pm. As a Dog Enrichment Specialist, we expect a minimum 6-month commitment following a successful background check and training completion.
Your day will primarily involve delivering abundant affection and attention to dogs of all sizes. Comfort and skill in caring for dogs of all sizes are essential for this role.
The role is active, with dog care visits ranging from 30 to 60 minutes. Part of your duties will involve driving to and from appointments. We aim to keep visits geographically close, there is rarely an occasion where you would drive more than 15 minutes between appointments.
Our Dog Enrichment Specialists are continuous learners, utilizing resources like online portals, books, videos, and team training. The job demands constant physical activity – playing with dogs, cleaning up after them, engaging in walks, picking up toys – there is rarely a moment to sit idle. On the positive side, you are paid for spending time outdoors, engaging with lovable dogs, and staying active!
You should have a smartphone equipped with a high-quality camera and a robust battery. A high or unlimited data limit is also crucial as our team uses an employee app for GPS tracking of visits, accessing dog information, and communication with clients.
Working at Praline’s Backyard Dog Services offers flexible scheduling that can be tailored to fit around your school, work, or family schedules, given adequate notice. This role is not suited for frequent sick days, but with proper notice, most schedules can be accommodated.
The amount of work you are scheduled for depends upon:

The reservations we have booked
We do not guarantee a minimum number of hours or monetary compensation
Schedules change weekly, it’s possible to have a sequence of one or two appointments, take a short unpaid break, and then continue with more dog care visits.
For operational efficiency, no friends, family, or pets are allowed during visits or in your vehicle during appointments.
Note: Peak demand is observed during holidays. If you’re unavailable for three or more major holidays, your application may not be prioritized. Our peak seasons include Thanksgiving, Christmas, Spring Break, and the 4th of July week.
