Canine Enrichment Specialist

The Job
What does a Canine Enrichment Specialist do?
Your responsibilities as a Canine Enrichment Specialist include driving to appointments, using our mobile app to check in/out of appointments, providing fear free care, and sharing engaging updates with pictures to keep our clients informed about their dogs.
Compensation
Canine Enrichment Specialist at Praline’s Backyard averages $15 per hour plus gratuity during their initial 90 days. Our pay structure includes:
After a successful 90-day review, our employees receive a pay increase, with further increments at 6 and 12 months. Our long-standing team members can earn between $15-$20 per hour, dependent on their tenure and availability.
Our Canine Enrichment Specialists Primary Responsibilities:
- Enrichment-Focused Dog Walking: Provide individualized dog walks that go beyond exercise, incorporating mental stimulation such as sniffing games, interactive play, and problem-solving activities.
- In-Home Pet Sitting: Offer stress-free care for pets while their owners are away, maintaining their routines and ensuring they receive proper mental and physical stimulation.
- Customized Care Plans: Tailor each walk or visit to the specific needs of the dog, following the personalized care plans set during meet-and-greets with clients.
- Safety & Well-Being: Ensure the safety of each dog by using best practices for handling, walking, and supervising interactions. Monitor the dog’s behavior to ensure they are comfortable, stress-free, and happy during the visit.
- Client Communication: Provide regular updates to clients, including photos and detailed summaries of each walk or visit, to ensure peace of mind while they’re away.
The amount of work you are scheduled for depends upon:
- Your availability
- The reservations we have booked
- We do not guarantee a minimum number of hours or monetary compensation
Schedules change weekly, it’s possible to have a sequence of one or two appointments, take a short unpaid break, and then continue with more dog care visits.
For operational efficiency, no friends, family, or pets are allowed during visits or in your vehicle during appointments.
Note: Peak demand is observed during holidays. If you’re unavailable for three or more major holidays, your application may not be prioritized. Our peak seasons include Thanksgiving, Christmas, Spring Break, and the 4th of July week.
